These gloves are weatherproof, with an adjustable wrist closure to keep them locked down tight on your wrists, keeping the heat in and snow out. A leather palm helps keep the gloves dry and your hands on your poles and the fingers are contoured to more naturally grip poles. In my opinion, the gloves run slightly small.
