I stated from the rim. You can use either two needles or four needles. I used two needles and hemmed the rectangle together to form the hat. If using four needles , then you don't need to hem.
btw, I was very good at crochet when I was in middle school. I made money by doing it.

OK then how many "jin" you start off when you do the rim?  and then you just subtract one "jin" per row until you only have a few lleft?  I can try that if I remember how to start the first row - that is the part I forgot.  and do you do one row high jin and one row low jin?  You will get a triangle instead of a rectangle then.

Sounds like you are a real pro at crochet!  Making  money on that too!   Thanks a lot for telling me how to do it.

This one I started with 74 "Jin"(you mean针right？）。 You can adjust it depending on the size of your head. I don't subtract it until reaching the top part, then I subtract it within 6 rows. The pattern I did called "双元宝“，hard to explain how to do it in writing, you can google it and there are video tutorials that you can follow. For the starting, there are several ways and you can also google them.

OK sounds good.  Yes I mean jin like you wrote in Chinese.    I will give that a try.  So 74 within 6 rows reduced to say 4 at the last row means a lot of reduction - reducin by around 10 -12 each row. Thanks!

千万不要告诉LD，要不然滑雪的费用肯定卡。

手好巧啊! 我记得大学时, 和宿舍老大学习织毛衣, 织得肩膀痛, 还很难看. 现在还是没学会 :-(
