Atomic Redster is the first ski boot constructed in series with a part made of carbon. The test team has tried Neveitalia premiere in Pampeago, during the days that the Pool Ski Italy dedicated to the specialized press in April. since the market always gets lots of attention from buyers, however, the project has remained almost unchanged for 4-5 years, unless some improvements to the hardness of plastics and the introduction of the booster strap. Atomic

to put his hand to a product so successful had therefore need real news, and it did.
The changes affect every aspect of the boot, but the most interesting focus on the hull, made with new molds and new compounds. This

that catches the eye is the use of carbon in the rear area.
The carbon is known for its characteristics of lightness and hardness, but is also an element is difficult to work and is especially ; difficult to be coupled to other materials. Why Atomic has created a new PVC: the plastic they are made boots Redster fact alone transmit more than 200 Nm of energy compared to 60-70 Nm of ordinary plastics, including plastics of the previous Austrian brand. Through that and especially with the new mix engineers have managed to fuse the paste, and carbon fibers to PVC and to work on the same carbon, giving the shape of the boot. The new compounds and the carbon support mean that the rear part of the boot is very rapid to transmit pulses: more than four times as obtained with the new plastics.

Even the sole has been renewed, now the boot rests more on the back of the foot that on the front, to allow a better management of the ski. It has been shortened and lengthened the front of the heel region.

The other big news of the boot is the interior design: the foot is to stay in an interchangeable part of the hull (which you see in the picture on the left, stand at Atomic Prowinter). Inside the hull is in fact possible to place three different insoles of different compounds: soft to the speed disciplines, an average daily and rigid for maximum transmission of the pulse, as used for slalom.
Obviously the three wedges do not overlap: it puts one at a time, very easily, and locks with a key screw on the heel. Then you will enter the classic wedge on which rests the foot and the liner.
The volumes of the plant were then redrawn, and is the aspect that is felt most just fitted.
The hull in fact, while maintaining a width of the plant of 95 mm (in line with all the boots race ), rises from the base of the sole to the hooks in a less vertical but slightly convex, so as to maintain the width of support to 95 millimeters and not to compress the sole of the foot, allowing it to lean in a natural way and no arching. < br>
The fit is very comfortable, even on a well-padded liner on the tongue will prevent almost 100% that annoying rubbing foot on the folds of the plastic, and when putting the boot in to remove.
This is the one that will hit you all in the dry tests in stores, because they immediately notice a feeling of airiness never experienced in a race boot. Airy so that the number that it is customary to adopt is in most cases excessive, even to those of a large plant. This will mean two things: some will conveniently be used without changes in the number of sorts, when they first had to widen and lengthen. Others will move to fewer, but having to take some precautions and milling.
Although very convenient Redster 130 of our test, can be heard in the classic Atomic points, ie in the area of ​​the external malleolus, on the inside of the foot half hull (practically under the second hook) and some trouble light also in the heel area.
