Madrid - a magificent city

Never knew about Madrid till I visited it this June for 3 days.  The place radiates the power of old Spain where it conquered and colonized many places in the world notably South and central Americas, California Philippines and the west Indies.  In Madrid where the city hall now stand is mile zero stone on the ground at the Plaza de Sol ( sunny plaza) and distance of Spainish places are measured from here, showing the concept of Madrid being the centre.  The buildings in old Madrid showed many old grand architecture.  You can see it on a city bus tour - whihc is highly recommended if you visit Madrid.  There are three big museum I went - the Prado, the Sophia and the Thyssen.  All worth going.  The Palace is a must see and so is the Cathedral right next to it.  There are beautiful Parks in the city as well but no time for the strolls.  Madrid is very metropolitan - people from every race can be seen there.

西班牙拿下欧洲杯， 属于再正常不过的事情， 他们不拿才不正常。

西班牙人虽然贡献了绣花一样赏心悦目的足球。 但是从另一个角度说， 西班牙人破坏了足球的魅力所在， 一个没有悬念的比赛是乏味的。

我真的不是很明白， 这教练是怎么能够把11个运动装态传球意识超一流的人凑成一个队， 也许荣耀是属于霸飒的。。。

Madrid was the last city I went after Santiago.  I wish I could go to visit Granada and Seville in the South. Unfortunately I can only have time to do the El Camino and Madrid.  perhpas another time.  I was told the architecture there is spectacular and has the islamic influence.  But I learned a lot from visiting Madrid.

More pictures of a building and a traffic circle - one of the landmarks of Spain - this building is on a circle area - you can see many cars waiting for the lights to change so that they can move.  I forgot the name of this white builidng but I think it is the municipal government of Madrid and people are allowed to go in and at the top you can have the best view of Madrid.  I did not have time to visit it since I spent most of my time at the museums and the palace but it is well worth a visit.   

I think the second photo is the building of the Spanish National Bank - not the government building but it is at one of the corners of the circle.  The other small white building may be the building or monuments of the Americas.   Also in the centre of the circle may be a statute of Columbus.

Here is picture of the closed street as seen from the hotel where I stayed at Via Grande, the Ntaional Library of Spain, the biggest Daily News where the National journalist club is, and i saw a photo shoot of a model in front of the University of Madrid.  The last photo is the famous Madrid Soccer Club's stadium which produced the NO.1 team in Euro CUP!
