Soft snow, smooth and slick surfaces, fast, and no ice to worry about, spring skiing, when you hit it right, is the second best skiing conditions, imo, second only to a good powder skiing.

Taichi Skiing: shadow skiing on Tamarack Express line, Heavenly

It is May 5th, and thanks to Heavenly’s extended season (where it opens every Fri-Sun in May including Memorial Day May 27th,) we are still skiing. Snow is kind of soft and mushy, nevertheless, except a few flat spots where snow maybe grabbing, the skiing remains decent.
