我好像没有贴过乌鸦照片。

不是我讨厌乌鸦，关键是没有贴的价值。

不要吸凉气，老外团一向都是宰死你没商量性质的，贵60%已经算“背包族价格啦”。

我印象最深刻的，当年去尼泊尔走2星期的徒步。自己走，住小破客栈，吃小破客栈里的食物。每天开销是100人民币以下。因为那地方超级便宜啊。一圈下来，200美元开销。包当然是自己背的。不过就算雇人背包，也不过就是10美元1天，而且一个挑夫起码背2个包，你可以和别人share。

后来遇到一个老外团，有一个向导(路线就像高速那么清晰，根本不需要向导)，几匹马背行李(why?人比马便宜)，有个厨子烧饭(why?客栈里有卖吃的)，晚上睡帐篷(很冷的哇.why?客栈房间30块人民币...)。这舒适度实在还不如我住客栈房间，自己走。这算是“背包团”，问一下他们的团多少钱啊？同样的行程，3000美元。

最近又有个同事去中国。北京，西安，上海，再加长江游轮3天。不包任何机票。11天的行程，多少钱啊？2000美元。

北美人民有个十分奇怪的思维方式，认为做同样的事情，全世界都应该和北美一个价，所以。。。不觉得贵。

昨天有个朋友看到Gap有个deal，Galapagos游轮行，6天，2000美元。不知是否包来回飞岛上的机票(400美元)。问我自己走多少钱。

如果不算机票。自己去岛上买游轮的话，同样的行程，同样的船，6x150=900美元。

thank you for the compliment. but with all due respect...it is just a normal country...not a strange country.

the fact that we know very little about a country does not make it strange...

You are quite right.  However people have a natural fear if they are ignorant about it plus carrying the baggage of feeling that they cannot communicate should something happens.  You are very unusual becuase you are able to tell those thoughts to go away and not bother you but focussed on what you want to do , instead of focussing on what you cannot do.   That is your route to success!  Congratulations!  You will have a very meaningful life to live.

thank you for not being offended. it is just i love ecuador very much. LOL

communication problems? well...do we know some chinese who have lived in canada for many years but do not speak english? i do. in fact there are many of them. are they living in hell? no.  have we seen a lot of white people who do not speak chinese travel in china? yes. are they traveling in hell? no. and...can we spend a few hours learning 100 spanish (or whatever) words before we travel? yes, we can. you will be surprised how far 100 words can take you.  

and really, ecuador is a lovely country with nice, welcoming people -- just like any country i have visited. there is absolutely nothing to worry about as long as you have the common sense, such as not wearing a huge diamond ring, or wandering in dark alleys at 2am -- I am pretty sure wandering at 2am will cause you trouble anywhere.

the world is a mostly safe place -- or at least the places I have been. it is so sad that CCTV, CNN (surprisingly not too much better than CCTV...) or hollywood movies (by far the worst) tell us blatant lies about the state of the world.

And no, it does not take too much courage to travel in south america, or any supposedly "poor" country. It only takes some US dollars+a big smile. LOL
