我在167学校和在蓝山的缆车上跟几位同雪都讲过这个问题。 楼上几位也都在说园, 我想请问一个问题, 为什么 ...
My speech of the year [correct me if I am wrong]
Round turn is to controlling speed and to maintaining momentum energy. The ability to make round turn shows the skill of the skier, and the ability to make a turn.
Most average skiers do not know how to turn, or make a good "turn", even though most think they know how to turn. To measure that, take an average skier to GS race course, you will find the average skier skids, breaks, or misses the "turn" (the gate). In simple word, they cannot turn, or don't know how to turn.
In free skiing, a skier does not need to make round turn all the time. The difference between an average skier and an expert skier is the average skier doesn't know how to make a round turn, and the expert skier knows how but doesn't make a round turn all the time.
Average skiers and expert skiers all are able to ski at green run because it does not require high level of "turn" skill. A skier progresses from green run, to blue, to black runs, is not how brave they became (maybe some do), but with improved turning skill. In a GS race course, an expert skier will win because he/she "turns" better. In steep double black runs, an average skier's legs are frozen and scared to go down. Why, because he/she is unable to turn and therefore scared of going straight.
In free skiing, there is less measurement of skill required as compared to racing where time is measured which is determined by skill. If you feel you are "good" now and want to improve, take yourself to a steeper slope. If you cannot make a round turn coming down, it will show your problem in skill.
In another simple word, practice round turn is to exercise your turning skill.
In my church, my bible says there are two skills only in skiing. One is going straight, and the another is turning. Everyone knows going straight, but very few people can turn. If you think you know how to turn, show yourself in race course, in steep, in mogul, in powder, and in tree. Then you are GOD in my church. Aleluya.
Have a great and wonderful turn. Amen.
