Yes, yes, very funny. The tow UK come Lake Louise for vacation (I think they want to escape from the UK snowstorm). On the chair, they saw a young racer ski very fast on a green run and they express very excited and shout: “look…Wow! “. Quickly, they cry out again… Wow! This was other teen jump from a small bump. I thought I could do it either, so what. Nate very polite asked: “are you come from UK.” They nod head. They said this vacation are they first time ski outdoor (before was indoor ski). Then, I understood why they were so surprised.
I find the cold in the East and the cold in the west is different. In Alberta it is cold but it is like insdie a big fridge. There is no wind when it gets down to -40 ( cannot say that for Sask - they have wind and cold). Also it is a dry cold. However it does not mean it is warm. Freeze your butt out. Wear really warm helps but the sun also helps ( although it is so cold even the sun is not warm). Furthermore the morning starts late and it gets dark real fast. The sun, however, is nice and warm in Colorado! That's why it is the best ski country USA.
In the East - the humidity is high plus there is the freaking wind. You feel a real chill to your bones! With the wind when you ski - the wind holds you up the slope and you do not even move down even on McCulloch. You can spread your arms and you fly like a bird - freaking cold and it is fun. But it is cold. The sun does not always come out. But if it is out, it is warm.
Both East and West are cold but different experience.
