有沒有聽過mono-turn/單邊轉彎? 那是tele/分腳滑的技術，轉彎不換沿/edges。這影片顯示的是“定點降落”, 那是滑到“定點” 停而不用煞車。

Due to its softer stance, Downhill Tele has some certain advantage (fluidity) over regular downhill stance in powder skiing.

Here’s where it all began.

Initially, my wife did better telemark skiing than I did, as her White Crane Kungfu’s basic stance was very close to the telemark stance. As I struggled to balance on those long skinny cross-country skis,

the term “功夫滑雪” came to me, and later evolved into the “大力金剛走” 。

Telemark skiing is what enables us venturing into the mountains and wilderness in the winter feasible, thus open up a lot of opportunity for new adventures. Before we went to Alaska, we had three wishes, just for the fancy lyrics of them, “fly with eagles, walk with grizzlies, and howl with wolves,” and on this winter camping trip we made it happened one of them.

We were camping by the bank of a small frozen river, all by ourselves in the Alaska backcountry. At night a pack of wolves was howling across the river from us. It was haunting and scary, as the river was frozen, there was nothing to prevent them from came across. Nevertheless, I howled back, they echoed a few weak howls, then silent. And I went outside the tent to check it out, only saw an empty scenery in dead silent in the middle of a dead winter and dead cold. It was so peaceful, and I was grinning, as I realized I have come face to face to my true wilderness/mother nature, as what we came to Alaska for, my destiny.

“Fly with eagles,”

I didn’t really get to “fly with eagle” in Alaska, but I did get bounced around by F-15 “Eagle” fighter jet’s wake turbulence a few times, does that count? ;)( I did fly with eagle in Colorado while I was training for my commercial license, story later.) Nevertheless, I did fly into a flock of 20+ Canadian geese. I was descending on my “final” at Anchorage international airport, a flock of geese just took off from a nearby water, flying V formation, and climbing, right onto my flight path, I didn’t really know what to do, good thing was that they saw my airplane too, every bird scrambled and started to tumble down to get away, (have you seen the waterfowls tumbling down to land?) that was wild and beautiful sight, wild time in the wild Alaska.
