Book reader

I am thinking of buying myself an electronic book reader.  Anyone had that experience and which one to recommend?  Would be glad to hear from you.   Can you download books electronically from a book reader or do you need a tablet?  Thanks

我同事推荐Kobo。 她说Kobo可以从以下几个途径下载：internet, your computer, local library, your friend's kobo.
另外还有叫Kindle的， 她没有用过， 但是她听说没有Kobo好。

自己有一台kindle，用了一段时间，感觉还不错，电池相当给力。我买的是paperwhite，说是什么新科技，不过用起来确实对眼镜伤害挺小的。至于传文档去kindle，我是下了个插件在电脑上，需要传的文件，直接右键点击文件，然后选传到kindle就好了。

If you read quite intensively, get a Kindle or smth. If you don't, your iPad will do.

I still prefer hard-copy books, cuz they feel "real" and heavy.

任何平板应该都能看书呀。apple和android都有看书的app和一大堆书下载，我觉得amazon产品并不占明显的优势。e-reader的屏幕是特殊的，比较适合眼睛长时间看书，这是硬件上的唯一优势了。

如果手上已经有一个平板，而且并非每天都要连续看4-5小时，那建议用平板试试看。不管是ios, google play book，或者下载amazon的app，都有一些免费的书可以试看。如果看下来觉得眼睛还是不舒服，再考虑买专用的e-reader。

并不是只有在amazon的机器上才有amazon的书和软件使用，你在ios和android上下载一个amazon的app，得到的东西完全是一样的。

最后，amazon的kindle是e-reader，而kindle fire就是一般的android平板，用的就是一般平板的屏幕，而且阉割了大量android固有的功能，基本属于没有意义的产品。这个要搞清楚。

Thasnk you all for your advice.  I will shop for that for Xmas or right after perhpas there will be a sale.  Your information will be very helpful to me.  As I get older, my eyes find it strainful to read the paper books as the font is small.  The ebook helps to make it easier I hopel

e-book设备的特点并不是可以把字体放大，因为所有的平板都可以把字体放大。它的优点只是屏幕的背光很低，让眼睛长时间使用不容易疲劳，仅此而已。如果你只是因为觉得实体书的字小，如果你已经有任何一种平板的话，大可不必专门去买一个e-book。

如果真要买e-book,推荐买6-7寸的，不能再大了，否则单手拿着不舒服。6寸的kindle现在卖69，原价，供参考。

尽量少读吧，眼睛宝贵，哪种阅读器都伤眼睛的，只是程度不同。

大印刷的书还是能找到的，不行，还有Audio book。
