Police told AFP the bears were fed dog food to keep them nearby to deter drug thieves. But feeding wildlife is illegal in Canada, and following the raid authorities said the bears might be killed because they could become dangerous when the feeding ended. We saw a lot of moose along the highways in Newfoundland.  You have to be very careful indeed.  Even in Ontario you can hit a moose on the highway in the north.  If you have never seen a moose you can see 2 of them at Muskoka Wildlife Center.  These are kept there as they cannot be released. and survive in the wild.

Well...我自己没遇到过。不过知道加东那边的人晚上开车不敢快，万一撞上moose基本必死。

另外徒步的时候如果突然遭遇moose，老妈为了保护小moose很可能charge，来一次不死也得重伤，一般认为比熊狠。

徒步的时候有防熊铃铛，放在背包上，一路响。

BC熊多，美国西部也是。

在东部，例如Adirondacks，back country的露营地都是必须带防熊器具的。据说Adirondacks现在必须用bear canister装吃的，挂在树上都不行。

我有个朋友，去Marcy露营，把食物挂树上，被ranger看到罚款200多。

上课的时候做过一篇阅读理解，遇到熊之前需要去加拿大轮胎或者其他有关野营、狩猎的店里面买一种类似国内鞭炮的东西，熊怕发出巨大声音的东西。加西的时候我住在coquitlam附近山上，当地市政要求每家垃圾桶放在户外的时候需要带锁，因为熊的嗅觉很好，记性也好，哪里吃到过东西的话，年年都会去看一眼。估计户外的话，吃的东西是不是也要带个密封套？
真的遇到了熊导，我会拿出筷子和盘子，每餐一顿，嘿嘿！

我去西部爬山都会带防熊喷雾，不过目前还没真的用到过。

根据统计来说，每年被moose弄伤弄死的，比被熊弄伤弄死的人多。所以熊并不是现实中最需要你担心的动物。
