Hanging Coffin - three little gorge of Yantze

Here you can see the famous hanging coffin in the three little gorge tour where we took sampan boats to get into remote tributaries of the the Yangtze.  See the picture with a marked "C"  The wood inside (looks like rotton wood) is the coffin.  No one knows how the ancients were able to put the coffin up that high.    The higher the coffin the more respect the dead person was.

我们当年也是去的小三峡！

当年的小船没有这样结实，一船大约15个人左右，也没有救生衣。水道也狭窄，有的地方一般只容一艘小船通过。遇到激流漩涡，心惊胆颤；有时船没有冲过去，船工需要观察水流，迂回前进。当时我们年轻，就抢着坐在第一排，在冲上冲下的惊险中，大呼小叫，觉得船工是天底下最了不起的人。

到了水浅的地方，大家又需要都下船，有时还需要帮着拉船。

栈道真的贴近了水面，不可想象。悬棺也可以看得这样真切！

真羡慕snowspring！希望有时间重游三峡！
